Comprehensive Home Care Services

Home Care is a diverse and dynamic industry. Services in the home may be necessary due to acute illness, long term health conditions, permanent disabilities, terminal illness or the impact of aging.

Home health care personnel include nurses, therapists and other specialized professionals who provide clinical intervention such as wound care, assistance with medication, improved ability to walk, or teaching individuals and their families’ self-management of their condition while remaining at home.

Personal care and support services are non-medical and include companionship, homemaking and assistance with activities of daily living such as grooming and bathing. These services are usually provided by personal care assistants and home care aides as well as companions and homemakers.

Healthcare Staffing Provides Additional Support

Healthcare staffing can include providing temporary staff to facilities or companies through a contractual agreement.  The challenges of health care staffing have become much more complex. There is a growing need for qualified supplemental health care staff and employees are looking for more flexibility with their careers. Across the region, we can provide health care personnel to a variety of settings including hospitals, nursing homes, physician offices, prisons, schools and clinics.

We offer the best in medical and nursing care, using state-of-the-art symptom management to control symptoms and promote comfort.

24-Hour Call

We always have a sister on call for all nursing related problems for our clients.

Our Exclusive Private Nursing

Due to an overwhelming demand for an up-market care facility, we have recently extended our services to include a brand new, exclusive private nursing facility (with Frail Care Unit) for 20 residents which is in the Hartenbos area

Our aim is to provide a high nurse to patient ratio especially for those with greater nursing needs. We envision permanent, long term Geriatric care, Alzheimer’s, MS and the terminally ill, as well as being able to assist those who need some step-down hospitalization for an interim period.

All our bedrooms have their own private modern shower-en-suite. All have built in cupboards and DSTV available. There are 2 spacious lounge areas for residents to use. We have created a comfortable homely environment with 3 well balanced delicious home cooked meals daily. Full laundry services are included, any other services required can be organized on request, e.g. hairdressers, chiropodists, physiotherapists, transportation to appointments etc.

We are affiliated with EMO (Emergency Medical Operations) who provide paramedic response in emergencies. Sisters are on call 24 hours per day, and all Sisters are registered private practitioners.

Retirement

Often planning for your retirement is a tough task, especially when you need to decide where to retire to, in order to achieve the balance between a tranquil lifestyle and having all the necessary infrastructure to maintain health and well-being.

Independent Living at Home

Many retired people do not want to live their remaining years in an old age home but would prefer to remain in familiar surroundings. We can be of assistance as certain needs arise especially during illness and hospitalisation as well as increasing frailty.

Transport Service

Transport is provided for our clients, whether it be for medical appointments or simply personal reasons.

Shopping Facility

Shopping can be arranged, whereby supplies are bought on behalf of the client. Should this be done on a regular basis, and the client is no longer able to monitor supplies, we can remove this responsibility, thereby keeping strict control over consumption as well as monitoring the diet of the patient. Purchases will be added to the account.

Hair and Beauty

Appointments can be scheduled for hair and beauty therapists to visit the patient at home or to transport the client to appointments.

Post-Operative Care

When leaving hospital and going back to your own environment, some assistance and support is often needed, depending on the severity of your operation and the time needed to recuperate.

The sister, on a regular basis, monitors the rehabilitation and the staff work closely in conjunction with auxiliary members of the medical profession to ensure a speedy recovery.

Nursing continues until such time as the patient is fully functional in their own environment, weaning the nursing staff slowly as independence returns.

Procedures

Wound care done by a nursing sister who will visit on a regular basis according to doctor's orders.

  • Catheterisation
  • Continence care and consultation
  • Blood pressure
  • Glucose
  • Ostomy care
  • Urine testing

Terminal / Palliative Care

The goal of palliative care is to prevent and relieve suffering and to improve quality of life for people facing serious, complex illness.

Emotional and loving support and advice is always available from the sisters and nurses. We are very sensitive to the needs of the patients and families in this difficult time and will provide as much nursing care and support as you need.

Respite Care (Holiday / Relief care)

Even though most families take great joy in providing care to their loved ones so that they can remain at home, the physical, emotional and financial consequences for the family caregiver can be overwhelming without some support, such as respite. Respite provides the much-needed temporary break from the often-exhausting challenges faced by the family caregiver.

If you are planning or needing to be away, whether on holiday, or in hospital or on business, leaving a loved one who needs care can be traumatic. To prevent the trauma of moving a loved one to a nursing facility during your time away, or leaving them alone, we provide nursing staff to be with them during your absence.

Post-natal Care

Nurses with baby care experience can be placed with you in those first difficult post-natal weeks. Nurse will assist with caring for new mothers and babies. This has proved especially helpful in the case of twins and when there are other children to consider.

Caring for Children

Often children are ill and kept out of school for a period of time, placing great stress on busy and working parents. Nurses can fulfil a vital role in this area and can be placed with the child at home for as long as is needed.

Diabetes

Diabetes is a common disease, yet every individual need unique care. We assist people with diabetes and their families about the latest medical therapies and approaches, as well as healthy lifestyle choices. Living with diabetes as you get older presents some unique challenges, but we're here to help.

End-of-Life

Good end-of-life care is based on the understanding that death is inevitable, and a natural part of life. As the final stage in a person’s life, it is a uniquely important time for the dying person and their family and close friends.

The goals of end-of-life care are:

  • To maintain the comfort, choices, and quality of life of a person who is recognised to be dying (in the terminal phase)
  • To support their individuality
  • To care for the psychosocial and spiritual needs of themselves and their families.

Support for families, if needed, continues after death as bereavement care. End-of-life care also aims to reduce inappropriate and burdensome healthcare interventions and to offer a choice of place of care when possible.

Chronic Pain Management

Since the origin of chronic pain is largely unknown and multi-faceted, it is of utmost importance to address the underlying causes that contribute to the sensation of pain and thoroughly analyse individual patterns that affect and modify the onset and resurgence of chronic pain. Together, we develop a strategy that allows for flexibility. There is a multitude of treatments available aiming at reinstating the patient’s body and mind/soul equilibrium.

Acute Pain Relief

Acute pain can be treated through many modalities all of which are attempting to minimize the use of pain medication in order to avoid the development of complex pain syndromes that could develop further into chronic pain.

Understand Pain

Pain is the specialty of many of our practitioners and the regular mutual exchange of knowledge, opinions, visions, and ideas to further our knowledge leads to a complex pool of creative skill that can meet pain in all its facets at our clinic.

Integral Osteopathy

INTEGRAL OSTEOPATHY is the widest osteopathic approach to understand and facilitate a therapeutic change. Based on gentle touch for diagnostics and treatment, it encompasses all osteopathic techniques including the cranial approach, latest neuroscientific research, optimum supplementary lifestyle advice and custom-made movement solutions.

Nutrigenomics / DNA Analysis

Since ancient times, humans have suspected that environment and food can influence health. We have also used food and plants as medicines. Modern science, especially the Human Genome Project (HGP), has highlighted the interaction between gene systems and food bioactive compounds. Nutrigenetics is the study of the individual variance of genes, while Nutrigenomics is the study of the gene-environment relationship.

The discovery of this highly specific relationship aids the prescription of customised diets according to everyone’s genotype. It is also possible to mitigate the symptoms of existing diseases or to prevent future illnesses, especially in Non-transmissible Chronic Diseases (NTCDs), which are currently considered an important world public health problem.

Detox Electrolysis Footbath

This treatment modality assists with toxic load reduction, using ionized water where the H+ and OH- ions are separated to create an ionic field. The ions then attract and neutralize toxins and heavy metals of the opposite charge.

This footbath is osmosis and electrolysis based. It is a detox model helping to detoxify the body and clear the burden of heavy metals and increased acidity seen in modern lifestyle ailments and cancer. A detox footbath is also deeply relaxing.

Infusion iv Therapy

To increase bioavailability, it is more efficient to introduce certain vitamins and minerals directly into the blood, particularly in severe and acute conditions such as cancer or acute infection. Very long-standing problems such as so-called ‘Slow Virus Infections’ can, however, also be addressed. This is achieved through direct infusion: mega-dose Vitamin C infusion and multi-mineral drips (Vitamin B, Glutathione, Selenium, Magnesium, Zinc and more).

Orthomolecular Medicine

Modern diets have been shown to lack the diversity and density of nutrients to support long-term health. Marginal deficiencies can be identified after appropriate assessment and treated by addition of nutrients including minerals, vitamins, essential fats, amino acids, and trace elements.

Nutritional Medicine

Diet has long been known to be a powerful influence in creating healthy human biochemistry. Today, detailed assessment of individual nutritional requirements can be carried out. Precise advice and coaching can then be provided to help restore healthy nutritional habits. This may go a long way in providing support for high-performance athletes and treating disease in patients.

Orthopaedic Rehabilitation

Specific pre- and post-operative or injury related musculoskeletal rehabilitation is practised to obtain and maintain optimal muscular motor function and self-efficacy for activities of daily living.

Performance Conditioning and Consulting

When it comes to injury prevention and injury rehabilitation, it is important to have knowledge of timing of when to load, what amount of load and what type of load; to optimise performance. In addition, sports disciplines require specific skills, which can be harnessed and optimised. The athlete needs to be viewed as a whole, with various bodily systems acting on other systems. For example, systems that govern sleep and digestion and storage are examples of the major influential systems that act and influence each other.

Exercise Medicine

Since movement and exercise are at the forefront of medical interventions that are showing excellent preventative results in long term studies about general (and specific) health, the inclusion of exercise into everyday life is one of HHH most important missions.

Movement Variability

Until we die, we should all aspire to move and function with ease. There are a few must-do’s and many unnecessaries that we can remove from our movements. Learn to mobilise, strengthen, function, and build capacity and resilience for activities of daily living and more. The architecture of the athletes’ musculoskeletal system, as well as its functioning for power, endurance, strength, and speed, play an important role in performance. Come and learn about which systems can improve your performance and bring about longevity in sport.

Personal Training and Movement Classes

These are fun exercise classes that involve learning new skills, tackling the ‘C’ word (core) and providing great functional efficacy for everyday life.

Intuitive Bodywork

A blend of different alternative and medicinal massage and treatment practices ensures a unique approach to promoting the healing process from within. The use of essential aroma oils, water, cupping therapy, fascia and myofascial massage techniques ensures the free flow of energy as a precursor for a fulfilled, purposeful life.

Energetic Healing

The healing touch can promote healing properties previously unknown to the client/patient and it is this specific experience that enables you to go on and manifest freely that which has been dormant for too long.

Tuina

TUINA is the Chinese Medicine related manual massage and pressure technique that follows, in essence, what all other modalities in Chinese Medicine are attempting to achieve – freedom from pain and stagnation, while remaining in an ideal postural environment.

Creative Therapy

Creative Therapy is an accurate Jungian based assessment process that uses images, known as mandalas or pictures, forms and colours to reveal the inner truth of what your current reality is- without the Ego filters. You literally will see the contents of your psyche related to your issue, and once you see it, you can change it.

Life Map Process

This process helps you to clearly see your unconscious stress patterns so that you can shift your perceptions and create new life supporting chemistry in your body.

Emotional Release

This practice brings you back to your peaceful self in order to radiate new life energy. Techniques and tools used in this Methodology are similar in all Energetic Healing practices throughout and include Sound Therapy, Art and Creative Therapy, pattern identification and more.

Conscious Spaces

Through HOME SPACE CLEARING you live in harmony with yourself, others, and your home environment. These techniques identify areas in your space/home that stagnate and are problematic and attempt to clear old stuck energy from your space. Our microenvironment (Cells/ Tissues/Body) is a reflection of our external environment (macrocosmic vs microcosmic), therefore it cannot be emphasised enough how important it is that your whole system (Body/Mind/Soul) are living in an harmonious environment.

Meditation

As one of the most useful tools to create and achieve mindfulness and body-mind-soul equilibrium, MEDITATION, is practised in multiple ways at HOUSE OF HOLISTIC HEALTH, from simple breathing techniques to complex movement meditations as practised in QI GONG, to chanting practices and HEALING MANDALA, a very peaceful meditation practice.

Acutonics

Everything in the universe vibrates, from the smallest particle within our bodies to the planets in our solar system to the billions of stars in our Milky Way galaxy, creating patterns of geometric waveforms, frequencies, intervals, and sounds. Acutonics or Sound Therapy utilises those phenomena to reintegrate, balance, create, generate and ultimately to heal, by working on a deeper level of body consciousness.

Tomorrow’s Medicine, Today

We are dedicated to not only the extension of life and the enhancement of quality of life but also to the prevention of disease through its orthomolecular treatment programmes.

This is achieved by adopting a multidisciplinary, holistic, medical–complementary health approach to disease prevention, management, and anti-aging therapy.

The team consists of medical doctors, complementary and alternative health care practitioners, counsellors, as well as pain management experts and pharmacology, integrative medicine, and bio-electronic engineering consultants.

Cancer Prevention, Support & Treatments

We have a special interest in Cancer Prevention, Support and Treatment, from Stage 1 to Stage 4.

Our Practitioners support and treat patients who choose not to have chemotherapy or radiation therapy, or patients who have had chemotherapy or radiation therapy in the past, or patients who are currently receiving chemo or radiation therapy.

Our 6 Step Approach to cancer support and treatment involves education about the disease and its causes, what diet to eat, which water to drink, which food supplements and immune boosters to take, how to detoxify the body (e.g. liver, lymph, blood, colon), which toxins, chemicals and foods to avoid, how to give up alcohol, drugs and cigarette smoking addictions and whatever other, alternative cancer therapies are available which are of a scientific basis, or strong track record of efficacy and safety.

Wound Care & Skin Treatment

Skin disorders and wounds which will not heal or are very slow healing are very difficult to treat.

The skin is our largest organ, complex in structure and performs several functions, namely physical protections, protection from infection, detoxification, (elimination of toxins via sweating), protection from the weather, dehydration, heat, cold and regulation of body temperature.

The ageing process takes its toll on the skin as it is very vulnerable to dehydration and sun (ultraviolet A, B and C harmful rays) damage. Chronic bed sores, diabetic ulcers, burn wounds and inflammatory skin disorders result in long term use of multiple antibiotics, cortisone creams, fluid and protein (plasma) loss, dressings, pain, disfiguration, risk of infection and even death.

We employ a holistic, multi-dimensional, integrative medicine approach to treatment of wounds and skin disorders of all types, also offering anti-ageing or rejuvenation of aged or damaged skin.
